Did a photoshoot for Female Appetite Magazine. Never heard of the magazine before but they were asking for a salad recipe that is “healthy”, so this is what i decided to do, a lump crab salad with avocado, tomatoes and corn. It’s a very simple dish and i used the avocado skin to hold the salad together.

What you need

Crab meat - not the one in the can ( there are some really good crab meat in a can from Indonesia but you cannot find it in M’sia because they send it out to US and Europe..WTF!) but fresh crab such as blue crab or any local crab.

Momotaro tomatoes or anything equivalent. I got mine from Cameron Highlands by a company call Grace Cup. Compared to a lot of local tomatoes, I think this momotaro tomatoes is the bomb. Just peel and deseed.

Sweetcorn- again the one from Cameron Highlands is the best. Cook it in milk and butter.

Avocado- mostly imported but the thing to make sure is that it’s not too hard or way ripen.

Toss all ingredients with lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper and you got yourself a salad.

*When you have the best of ingredients you really don’t have to do nothing much to a dish. Let the ingredients speak for itself.
